Managing Time By Yourself
Continued …
For a single person, being alone can be something one feels there is too much of! If you are in the mode of waiting and searching for Mr. or Ms. Right, it may not be easy to enjoy alone time. You may find aloneness uncomfortable as it can indicate that you haven’t found him or her. Get comfortable with being with yourself and liking yourself.
A person that can’t be alone actually has a desperate quality that can be picked up in a dating context. Plus if you don’t enjoy your own company, in a relationship a lot of demands are placed on one’s partner. This leads to an intolerance of time apart that can put a strain on the relationship. Turn inside yourself to see what you like to do and what your own interests are and not what you’d do if you wanted to impress someone. This helps you to find your own core and becomes the seed inside yourself that grows.
Whether you are single or in family life, alone time can be awkward and it’s a wonderful skill to be able to sit within yourself and not take your own identity as constituted by pleasing another person.
